Is The Envato Network Killing Freelancers?

Let me just open by saying “not literally”. The Envato Marketplace network comprises of many useful websites, each selling different types of website components at a low price to a wide audience. An example of one of their websites is ThemeForest.net that sells full templates ( and also PSD format ) with more categories than you can shake a stick at.

The problem, however, is in this already over crowded profession, filled with people who have used DreamWeaver once so now they are a professional website designer, could this lead to many website owners over-seeing people who have natural design flair, creating unique and elegant website and instead turning to and out-the-box solution that is still a very good design for a mere fraction of the price?

I must admit that I myself have used this network for various components over time, such as flash elements from FlashDen or buttons from GraphicRiver, making up for my lack of skill in these areas and creating a better all-around product because of it. Though I can’t help but think that a poor developer out there is eating out of a cold can of beans instead of a turkey meal because of my decisions ( warning: slight exaggeration ).
